About Rubik's Academy
A free, independent place to learn twisty puzzles - from your first solve to your first sub-20.
Our mission
Rubik's Academy exists to make learning the Rubik's Cube simple, free, and approachable. Many people pick up a cube, scramble it once, and put it away because the guides they find are confusing or assume too much. We wanted one place where a complete beginner can follow a clear path - notation, then the beginner method, then CFOP - and have the tools they need along the way.
What you'll find here
- Step-by-step tutorials covering notation, the beginner layer-by-layer method, and CFOP.
- An algorithm library you can search and filter.
- A speedcubing timer with inspection time and ao5/ao12 averages.
- An instant solver for the 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, and Pyraminx.
- Articles on practice habits, gear, and speedcubing tips.
How the site works
Everything runs in your browser. The solver and timer don't send your puzzles or times anywhere - timer history is saved only on your own device. You don't need an account to use any part of the site.
The site is kept free by displaying advertisements. You can read how that works in our Privacy Policy.
Independent and unofficial
Rubik's Academy is an independent fan and education project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Spin Master, Rubik's Brand Ltd, or the World Cube Association. "Rubik's Cube" is a registered trademark of its respective owner and is used here only to describe the puzzle.
