About this timer
This speedcubing timer works like the ones used at official World Cube Association competitions: hold Space to arm it, release to start, and press any key to stop. On a phone or tablet, touch and hold the timer instead, lift your finger to start, and tap anywhere to stop. Turn on the optional 15-second inspection to practice under competition-style conditions. Every solve is saved only on this device - nothing is uploaded - and your ao5 (average of 5) and ao12 (average of 12) update automatically so you can track real progress instead of judging yourself off a single lucky solve. Like official averages, ao5 and ao12 drop your single best and worst time.
Every solve comes with a fresh random scramble for the 3x3, 2x2, 4x4, or Pyraminx, generated the same way competition scramblers work: no wasted or cancelling moves, R/U/F-only turns on the 2x2, and wide turns on the 4x4. Hold your cube with white on top and green in front, then apply the scramble - the preview shows what your cube should look like when you're done. Each puzzle keeps its own stats, and hovering a time in your history shows the scramble it was solved from.
